      The Merlion Metabolomics Symposium 2019

The Merlion Metabolomics Symposium 2019 is a two-day event (21-22  November, 2019) that aims to promote metabolomics in the ASEAN and Pan-Pacific region. This is a follow-up event from the Merlion Metabolomics Symposium 2015, which brought eminent invited speakers from France metabolomics network, Australia, China, India, Italy, Ireland, Japan and UK. This year, as part of the recently formed Asian-Oceania Metabolomics Forum, we welcome metabolomics enthusiasts and practitioners from Asian-Oceania Region to join in the Symposium, together with our community members from other parts of the world. To promote the science and technology of metabolomics and its applications, especially among the early career scientists, and with thanks to the contributing partners in Singapore, we are fully subsidising the costs of registration, attendance, selected meals and refreshments for all the qualifying submitted abstracts and for our invited speakers. Despite this no-frills event, we look forward to providing a highly enriching and unique opportunity to researchers, academicians and industry participants for active learning via interaction, participation and networking. The format includes a series of thematic sessions, panel discussions, lightning talks for young researchers and site-visits. Participants can look forward to three engaging thematic sessions on Environment/Food, Plant and Microbial Metabolomics, a technical session on Advances in Data-analysis and Cloud computing, as well as a sharing session by pioneering experts of each fields, sharing their research journeys and experiences. Through this symposium, the organisers hope to encourage technical exchanges and catalyze the development of research collaborations in metabolomics and its related fields, especially in the Asia-Oceania region.
