PSLE is Over. What's Next? Transit to Secondary: Challenges & the Future

80% of our secondary 1 students find it a challenge transiting after PSLE P6 to secondary school. Challenges are plenty. Secondary education, can in fact, change one's life forever! 8 out of 10 parents we spoke to are pretty clueless when it comes to various academic tracks their child can take in secondary education. They may not be aware of what each track can lead to and how it affects the future of their child. This talk is a must-go event for PSLE parents who have kid(s) transiting to secondary school. You will find out: What are the recent changes in MOE system and is your child affected by the change? The various tracks offered in secondary schools and how it affects the future of your child; The challenges your child will face in secondary education and how you can help them transit smoothly; Understand the concept of metalearning and how it can help your child excel in their studies; How to prepare your child for his life-changing transit to secondary education. Get to enjoy complimentary Secondary Prep Programme (SPP) for Math and Science specially catered for your child to experience a headstart before Secondary education for participating parents!  Why are we doing this Free talk? When we see our students and parents struggle, we empathise with them. And we choose to do it only end of the year as the classrooms are usually not fully occupied. Of course, we hope parents and students can experience our Habitat's way of teaching. We take much pride in our centre, our tutors and our teaching philosophy. We also hope if your child needs tuition in future, you may consider us. If your child is doing well without the need for tuition, we are certainly happy for him/ her. Either way, we hope you can benefit the most of this talk. As for your child, treat it as a gift from us, as we lay their foundation through our SPP for Math and Science. What do we cover for the Secondary Prep Programme (SPP)? We provide complimentary SPP for Science and Math to students of participating parents only. SPP Science It used to be just one general Science subject for primary school. But Science is broken down into Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Secondary One. We will be covering: Overview of topics covered in lower secondary sciences including Biology, Chemistry and Physics; Tips on doing well for each subject (note the nature of each subject is different); Memorising techniques; Practical classes and how to excel in practical tests; Having FUN in science classes! SPP Math Math is a core subject which all students have to take throughout their years of education. Math helps us better our problem-solving skills and to think analytically. It also helps us with our reasoning capabilities. Such are the life skills that will help students excel in their lives in future. Also lower secondary math lays the important foundation to upper secondary E & A math. Some of the things covered in SPP math: Overview of topics covered in lower secondary math; Why math is known as the mother of all subjects; Introduction to K-D-C model to excel in math; Tips on scoring math; Having FUN in math classes!
